CIRI is an online register of competent builders, contractors, specialist sub-contractors, and tradespeople. The register serves as the primary resource for consumers and procurement professionals seeking verified construction service providers.
Registered providers will demonstrate competence, professionalism, compliance with insurance and regulatory obligations, and commitment to ongoing professional development.
Registration is a legal requirement for any provider undertaking building works subject to the Building Regulations and Building Control Amendment Regulations (BC(A)R). Applicants must meet strict criteria under the Act and successfully complete a comprehensive assessment process through the Admissions and Registration Board.
The Construction Industry Federation (CIF) manages the operational setup and administration of CIRI. Both CIRI and the Admissions and Registration Board, and the Appeals Committee, are separate from CIF.
